From The Bench- April Edition

As the natural world starts to unfurl with the arrival of spring, so too do some of our favourite things. Read on to find out what we are wearing, listening to and the places we’re visiting this April.

From The Bench is a monthly series in which we share our favourite things ~ it’s a newsletter that encapsulates lots of the chats we have with customers right here in the Shop & Studio.

Discover New In

Since the launch of épanoui Maison back on our 10th birthday we have been quietly welcoming a growing collection of vintage and antique homeware into the bricks and mortar store. It has been wonderful to share with you our life long enthusiasm for time worn pieces and beautiful patina and we are so excited to now have a small selection of the evolving collection available online. Keep your eyes peeled for new services as part of Maison and regular vintage furniture drops!

Wearing

Resting in open spaces is a calling that comes each spring and there is no stronger pull for us than that of the sea. Our Mother of Pearl collection is effortless, timeless and a daily reminder to embrace the ebb and flow of life. It’s the perfect layer paired with your favourite golden chains.

Elevating the Shop & Studio

We've fallen head over heels for Plum & Ashby's newest floral scent, Jasmine & Tuberose. A beautifully balanced fragrance that is transporting the season in full bloom right into our creative space.

Listening to

We are absolutely delighted that Alice Vincent is back with her seventh season of the Why Women Grow podcast. Alice’s weekly guests dig into everything from our connection to the natural world through gardening, working motherhood and why the best homes don’t always look like social media intended. A welcome reset for the nervous system.

Visiting this weekend

Bedford Flea Market is back this weekend with its first event of the year. Have a wander and discover local artisans, vintage sellers and delicious food to grace your weekend table. While you’re in town don’t forget to go and visit some of the best indies around like The Arc, Not Another Jungle and Vanilla Tree who are all open on Sundays!

In the kitchen

After gifting my partner Jess Elliott Dennison’s Midweek Recipes book at Christmas we have all been a little obsessed with regularly trying something new. Her lamb flat breads are our current favourite. I’d love to know which recipes you turn to each week to keep the kitchen spark alive?!
