Meet the maker, Nathalie Bond

This month we have a wonderful insight into the life of Nathalie Bond and how she goes about seeking the ultimate work/life/family balance. Nat's beautiful products were some of the first pieces we stocked in épanoui and still do to this day - hands down the best candles we have ever used (and we have sampled MANY)

We stock the full collection of Nathalie Bond products including skin balms, oils, soap blocks, scrubs, salts, candles & lip balms. All blended with nourishing and sustainable essential oils they really are a treat for your skin.

Over to you Nat...

Can you offer us a little glimpse into your daily routine?

Nathalie Bond HQ has quite a staggered start as we work from our home setting and manage our children around our work time. Alfie is 5 and Ted is 2. One goes to school and the other attends nursery a couple of days a week. To ensure we don’t need to increase that, I start at 7am and work an hour getting my head around emails and primary tasks for the day whilst Andy chases the boys and plays monsters. Tom, our production head, enters at 8 to start his day of production accompanied by his little dog Balule, who then keeps us company in the office for the day. I then join the boys and Andy for breakfast at 8 after which it’s a speed count down to get out of the house. Andy then takes over and is in the office for 9. I only work 2.5 days a week outside of my morning hour and Andy and Tom are in the office 5 days a week. We also have a lovely workshop assistant who joins us one day a week at the moment, and our lovely Chris who is in charge of sales. Andy and I have very different tasks, mine usually consists of organizing everything and managing the companies information…Andy and Tom then become my slaves because they have to do it all. ;) Each day is so varied, and we love that!

What made you start your creative business?

Our journey began a few years ago when I became pregnant with my first son. Since I had a tiny human living inside me I became more careful about what I ate and what I put on my skin. On average, women apply 168 chemicals to their skin every day and many women have no idea what they’re actually using on themselves or the impact on long-term health. I made an instant decision to clear out my bathroom cabinet and I began blending simple skincare that only contained natural cold pressed oils that are gentle, super nourishing and sustainably sourced.

Do you have any exciting projects in the pipeline?

Many of our enquiries have been asking about a company brochure for a while now, so we are looking forward to launching our first brochure in a short while which will help clarify how our range works. I am excited about this.

We are also starting to explore another arm to the business which is ‘Nathalie Bond @ Home’ Parties. We have done 2 so far and they have been fantastic. Watch this space!!

Now for a few quick fire questions –

Happiness is… seeing what’s in front of me

The song to get me on the dance floor is… Blame it on the boogie ;)

I’m most proud of… my family

My dream dinner guests would be (dead or alive)…Jesus

I’d be lost without… nature!

If I could tell my younger self one thing it would be… it will be ok.

Thank you Nat - It's so interesting to hear how you juggle a growing business with a busy home life - the ultimate quest for balance! We love Nathalie Bond here at épanoui and our bathroom is bursting at the seams so keep doing what you're doing. A big thumbs up from us.
